Florence Road are carrying the momentum of their breakthrough year into 2027. The rising Irish indie-rock quartet have released their new single, “Wish Upon You,” through Warner Records while announcing their biggest UK and European headline tour to date.

Arriving just days after the band completed a sold-out U.S. headline tour, the new track captures a more openly romantic side of Florence Road's songwriting. Built around a delicate piano introduction, “Wish Upon You” gradually expands into a sweeping chorus led by vocalist Lily Aron, balancing the band's alternative-rock instincts with an increasingly expansive pop sensibility.

Where much of Florence Road's earlier material has explored emotional uncertainty and complicated relationships, “Wish Upon You” finds the group embracing something refreshingly uncomplicated: the happiness of being with someone who makes life feel easier.

“We didn't have a plan for the song, but it became a love song without us really meaning for it to,” the band explained. “It's about that point when you're with someone and everything just feels a bit easier. You're not thinking too much about it, you're just happy to be around them.”

Florence Road described the track as one of their most straightforward expressions of affection, a departure from the sadness or emotional conflict that often informs their songwriting. The band said the song is ultimately about allowing themselves to believe in something good without questioning whether that happiness will last.

The arrangement reinforces that sentiment. An understated piano opening gives way to Aron's expressive vocals before the full band enters, building toward a chorus designed to fill rooms considerably larger than those Florence Road were playing a year ago.

Fans in New York received an early introduction to the song when the quartet performed it during their recent American tour. The live debut offered a preview of the more expansive sound the band is developing as its audience continues to grow internationally.

“Wish Upon You” follows the August release of “7563” and adds another chapter to a catalog that has steadily moved between indie rock and alternative pop. According to figures provided by the band's representatives, Florence Road have accumulated more than 112 million streams across their releases and surpassed 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

That growing audience has translated into increasingly ambitious live performances. With two EPs and a 2025 mixtape already behind them, Florence Road have developed a reputation for emotionally charged songs that retain their intensity onstage, helping establish the quartet among a new generation of emerging alternative acts.

Their recent U.S. tour, however, included an unexpected setback. While in Los Angeles, the band discovered that equipment had been stolen from their tour van, threatening their ability to complete the remaining shows.

Support arrived from fellow musicians and the wider music community, including Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, who offered his own guitar to help the band continue performing. Fender also supplied replacement instruments, allowing Florence Road to recover from the disruption and finish the American run.

With that difficult experience behind them, the band is now preparing for its most substantial European headline itinerary yet. The newly announced 2027 UK and European tour opens May 1 in Antwerp, Belgium, and travels through major cities including Hamburg, Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Milan, Amsterdam and Paris before moving into the United Kingdom.

Demand has already prompted an additional London performance. Florence Road will now play the O2 Forum Kentish Town on May 25 and 26, with the second date added following a strong response during presales.

The European portion of the tour begins May 1 at Trix in Antwerp, followed by Hamburg's Mojo Club on May 2, Berlin's Heimathafen Neukölln on May 4, Warsaw's Hydrozagadka on May 5, Prague's MeetFactory on May 6 and Munich's Nachtwerk on May 8.

The band then performs at Magazzini Generali in Milan on May 9, Plaza in Zurich on May 10, Kantine in Cologne on May 12, Paradiso in Amsterdam on May 13 and L'Élysée Montmartre in Paris on May 14.

The UK dates begin May 18 at The Queen's Hall in Edinburgh, continuing to Liverpool's O2 Academy on May 19, Leeds' Stylus on May 20, Nottingham's The Palais on May 22 and Cardiff's Tramshed on May 23. The tour concludes with the two London performances on May 25 and 26.

Fans can find ticket availability and individual venue information through the band's official 2027 tour page.

Before the new year begins, Florence Road will return to Ireland for a series of sold-out headline performances scheduled across November and December.

For a band whose recent touring schedule has included both career milestones and unexpected adversity, “Wish Upon You” arrives at an important moment. Its emphasis on warmth and emotional openness offers another dimension to Florence Road's evolving sound, while the expanded 2027 itinerary places the quartet before some of its largest headline audiences yet.
