Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is bringing her music to one of Hollywood's most prestigious celebrations, with a special performance scheduled for the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Los Angeles.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures announced Swift's appearance on Thursday (October 8), confirming that the music superstar will close an evening honoring three major figures in film: Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron, two-time Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo and filmmaker-composer John Carpenter.

"Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world," said Amy Homma, director and president of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection, in a statement. Homma added that the museum was looking forward to Swift's performance as the evening concludes.

The appearance places Swift at the center of a major Hollywood gathering during a particularly active period in her career. In August, she performed a medley of "All Too Well," "August" and "I Knew It, I Knew You" at the Grammy Museum. She also attended the September 27 MTV Video Music Awards, where she received the inaugural Artist Director Honors recognition.

Swift's recent connection to cinema extends beyond the upcoming gala. Her original song "I Knew It, I Knew You" appeared in Pixar's Toy Story 5, continuing her involvement with film music following previous soundtrack contributions, including "Carolina" from Where the Crawdads Sing.

The Academy Museum Gala will recognize Theron with its Icon Award, Carpenter with the Luminary Award and Domingo with the Vantage Award. Each honor recognizes a different contribution to filmmaking and the broader cinematic landscape.

The event is also a major fundraiser for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Proceeds support exhibitions, educational initiatives, film screenings and programs intended to make cinema history more accessible to the public.

Filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Steven Spielberg, along with Kate Capshaw, are among the event's co-chairs. The host committee includes John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Jessica Alba, Questlove, Teyana Taylor, Demi Moore and several other prominent entertainment figures.

Although Swift has been confirmed as the evening's closing performer, organizers have not announced her setlist or whether the performance will be available through a television broadcast or livestream.

Additional information about the gala and its honorees is available through the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
