RRRomeo brings a broader sound to the stage

The tour supports RRRomeo, Girl Ultra’s new album scheduled for digital release October 9 through Big Dada. According to the official Big Dada and Ninja Tune release page, the project explores romance, memory, friendship, heartbreak and creative reinvention.

Chromeo co-produced the album, which expands on the R&B foundation that first brought Girl Ultra wider attention. The music also incorporates garage rock, house, funk and pop, creating a more varied palette for the live show. That stylistic range should translate effectively to the tour’s small and mid-sized venues, where new songs can retain both their club energy and emotional detail.

Girl Ultra’s work has helped connect Latin alternative music with contemporary R&B without confining either style to a fixed formula. Her songs move between Spanish-language songwriting, soul phrasing, guitar textures and dance-floor production. The result is music rooted in a specific cultural perspective but open to collaboration, genre crossover and reinvention.

The 24-date run also extends beyond the largest U.S. touring hubs. In addition to New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, the itinerary includes Texas border communities, two Canadian markets, independent rooms in the Midwest and Northeast, and a closing run through California, Oregon and Washington. That geographic reach gives Girl Ultra an opportunity to develop the RRRomeo era in distinct local scenes rather than treating the album as a limited promotional cycle.
